During a recent episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Scarlett Johansson shared her thoughts on filming the verbal sex scene in the movie “Her”. The 2013 film directed by Spike Jonze featured Joaquin Phoenix as Theodore, who falls in love with Samantha, an AI assistant voiced by Johansson. In the movie, the two become intimate through a verbal sexual encounter, which the actress described as “gross”. Although the scene ends with a fade to black, Johansson admitted to being uncomfortable with her own voice, something many people can relate to. Speaking to podcast hosts Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, she said, “You don’t want to hear your voice ever”.

In a recent interview, Scarlett Johansson revealed that filming a sex scene with Joaquin Phoenix for the movie “Her” was an uncomfortable experience. According to Johansson, it was awkward to make fake orgasm sounds and she didn’t want to hear what she sounded like during the scene. She also revealed that Phoenix had to leave the room for a bit as he couldn’t stop laughing during one take. Despite the discomfort, the film went on to win an Academy Award for best writing for an original screenplay and was nominated for best picture at the 86th Academy Awards.
